A 700m section of the existing Esso Birmingham Airport Link 12-inch diameter welded steel multi-products pipeline was diverted to make way for the future High Speed 2 (HS2) railway development in the West Midlands.
Scope of works
- Enabling works
- Setting up of the site establishment compound, access road and working-width;
- Stringing. welding and installation of the section of diverted pipeline;
- Directional drill of approx. 250m
- Non-Destructive Testing;
- Cleaning, Hydrostatic test, calliper pig run, drying and nitrogen purge;
- Assist CLIENT with commissioning works;
- Cold-cut pipe & weld 2nos golden weld tie-ins to the existing pipeline;
- Lift, cut and remove the section of redundant pipe
